Ukrainian Bilingual Programming
The Ukrainian Bilingual Program is designed to give all students the opportunity to speak, read, and write in Ukrainian, while following mandated provincial curriculum. Music, Art and cultural activities enrich student learning and bring vibrancy to school life.
Early Years (Kindergarten to Grade 4) - Ukrainian language skills are developed in a variety of ways using music, games, drama and other cultural activities. Students spend up to half their time using Ukrainian to study Ukrainian Language Arts, Social Studies and Health. This experience is oftern extended with Choral, Art and Physical Education activities. The study of Basic French begins formally at Grade four; Kindergarten to Grade three students receive Early Start French. Students study English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science in English.
Middle Years (Grade 5 & 6) - In grades 5 and 6, students grow in their language skills. Technology is an important support to student learning.
