MVSD COVID-19 Update

Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard Update - Smith-Jackson School

On May 31, 2021, MVSD was notified of a new case of COVID-19 associated with Smith-Jackson School; however, the individual was NOT present in the school during their period of communicability (POC) and there are no school-related close contacts. Therefore, no public health investigation in the school is required. The case will appear on the Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard in the coming days. Click on the link for more details.

Further School Measures - COVID-19

On May 9th, Minister of Education Cliff Cullen and Provincial Medical Officer of Health Dr. Brent Roussin announced further measures in schools to reduce community transmission of COVID-19. Please click on the link for more information on how this impacts schools in Mountain View School Division.

May 21, 2021: Until further notice, the play structures at MVSD schools are intended for school use during regular school hours only, and will not be for community use at any time. MVSD staff will be placing signage at playground sites.

I Love to Read: Literacy "Lockdown Liftoff"

We had a great Literacy Lockdown for I love to read month! We had our grande finale Friday afternoon with our ‘Lockdown Liftoff’, prizes, draws, etc. The students did a great job with the Pandemic Poetry, Sanitized Stories, Lock Down Lessons and Pandemic Perspective stories. Thanks to those that submitted family posters – these are on display on the 8th Ave. side of the playground, near the play structure. Drive by and have a look!

Strategic Planning Survey for the 2021-2022 School Year

As our communities and school division emerge from the challenges of COVID-19, MVSD is looking forward to planning for the 2021-2022 school year.
