Dear Smith-Jackson School families,
We are thrilled to kick off I ❤️ to Read Month with the theme of Stars, Planets, and the Night Sky. This month will be packed with reading activities, some of which students can enjoy at home. Inside your child's pouch yesterday, you may have found a few sheets to help guide their reading journey.
- The white sheet is a Reading Bingo. Encourage your child to read in various locations and sign each box after 20 minutes of reading. Once all boxes are filled, they can submit it to their classroom teacher for a chance to win in our end-of-month draw.
- The blue sheet is for tracking your child reading, which should be submitted every Friday. Students will earn a ⭐ for each book read (Grades K-3) or for every 15 pages (Grades 4-5), with a goal of collecting 1,000 stars for a special school-wide prize.
- Lastly, the pink sheet outlines a family project. As we know that families are busy, the family project is a volunatry activity that you may choose to complete with your child(ren). Any family projects submissions will be entered into a draw at the end of the month!
Thank you for your support - together, we can achieve our reading goals!
