Due to the number of recent positive COVID-19 cases in the City of Dauphin, Manitoba Public Health has advised that all Dauphin schools remain in full remote learning until Friday, June 18 with a potential return to in-person learning on Monday, June 21. Flags within Mountain View School Division will be flown at half-mast from Monday, May 31, 2021 to the morning of Wednesday, June 9, 2021, to recognize, honour and remember the 215 children found buried at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC. All students and staff across MVSD are encouraged to wear orange on Monday, May 31 in honour and remembrance of the 215 children.
Due to the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the Dauphin and surrounding area, Manitoba Public Health has advised that Mountain View School Division transition all schools in the City of Dauphin to full remote learning for a two-week period. Smith-Jackson School will be transitioning to remote learning effective May 26, 2021 until June 9, 2021, inclusive. Click on the link to view the letter to Smith-Jackson parents/guardians.
This is a reminder to all parents of SJS that the students homework packages can be dropped of at the SE Gym doors tomorrow, June 2nd from 11:00 am - 2:00pm. New packages can be picked up when the previous package is dropped off. Thank you.
On May 31, 2021, MVSD was notified of a new case of COVID-19 associated with Smith-Jackson School; however, the individual was NOT present in the school during their period of communicability (POC) and there are no school-related close contacts. Therefore, no public health investigation in the school is required. The case will appear on the Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard in the coming days. Click on the link for more details.
